Job description

As a Store Manager Trainee, you'll train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for managing your own store. You'll be involved in supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules, and developing operational plans while mentoring and developing the team.

Position Type: Full-Time
Estimated Hours: 45 hours per week
Starting Wage: $30.25 per hour
Estimated Year 1 Earnings: Up to $101,500 (including salary and bonus; may vary by location)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily store operations and team performance to provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate and model company values to foster teamwork and a positive environment.
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues appropriately.
  • Maintain store signage, product quality, and freshness.
  • Assist in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new staff.
  • Prepare and manage weekly schedules for adequate staffing.
  • Set clear job responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Conduct store meetings and performance evaluations.
  • Identify training opportunities and support team development.
  • Manage payroll and monitor budgets for payroll and losses.
  • Conduct cash audits and monitor the competitive environment.
  • Provide product feedback and suggestions for inventory adjustments.
  • Ensure a safe environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment.
  • Oversee product merchandising, inventory counts, and stock levels.
  • Uphold company policies and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform physical tasks regularly.
  • Sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk frequently.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop rapport with staff.
  • Interpret company policies and set performance goals.
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and operate equipment safely.
  • Stay organized, multitask, and follow instructions.
  • Meet state and local requirements for handling alcohol where applicable.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years retail experience, with management experience preferred.

Travel:

Training may occur at multiple locations; flexibility to travel is required.
