Job description

As a Store Manager Trainee, you’ll train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for running your own store. You’ll be involved in supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while mentoring and developing the team.

Position Type: Full-Time

Estimated Hours: 45 hours per week

Store Manager Trainee Starting Wage: $28.50 per hour

Estimated Store Manager Earning Potential Year 1: Up to $109,000 (inclusive of salary and bonus when applicable)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

2. Supervise the day-to-day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service.
3. Understand the overarching company strategy and communicate and model the core values of the organization to create a sense of teamwork.
4. Handle customer concerns and ensure appropriate resolution.
5. Ensure proper store signage is maintained at all times and the quality and freshness of ALDI products.
6. Assist in hiring store personnel by reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates.
7. Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels.
8. Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
9. Conduct store meetings.
10. Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.
11. Conduct annual performance evaluations, recommending personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate.
12. Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets.
13. Manage cash audits according to company guidelines.
14. Monitor the competitive environment within the community and make recommendations regarding necessary adjustments.
15. Provide product feedback to direct leader regarding new items to carry or those to be discontinued.
16. Provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors by identifying and rectifying hazards.
17. Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels through appropriate product ordering.
18. Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations according to company guidelines.
19. Comply with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
20. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights.
2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
3. Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Job Qualifications:

1. You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI.

12. Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
3. A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
4. Prior management experience preferred.

Travel:

Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements.
