Job description

As a Store Manager Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training on all aspects of successfully managing a store, preparing you to operate your own store independently. Your responsibilities include supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, staffing, scheduling, and developing operational plans while mentoring your team.

Position Details:
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours: 45 hours/week
  • Starting Wage: $28.50/hour
  • Potential Year 1 Earnings: Up to $87,000 (including salary and bonuses, varies by location)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate company values and competencies (M.A.P.)
  • Oversee daily operations and team performance to deliver excellent customer service
  • Communicate and embody company strategy and core values to foster teamwork
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly
  • Maintain store signage, product quality, and freshness
  • Assist in hiring processes, including resume review and interviews
  • Manage weekly schedules to ensure proper staffing
  • Set clear responsibilities and expectations for staff
  • Conduct team meetings and performance evaluations
  • Identify training needs and support staff development
  • Achieve payroll and loss prevention goals
  • Manage cash audits and monitor competitive environment
  • Provide product feedback and manage inventory levels
  • Ensure store safety and maintain equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Physical and Job Requirements:
  • Ability to stock and handle merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and walk
  • Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Provide excellent customer service and lead others
  • Interpret policies, set goals, and evaluate performance
  • Understand budgeting and expense management
  • Operate cash registers and store equipment safely
  • Stay organized and detail-oriented
  • Meet legal requirements for handling alcohol (if applicable)
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 3 years in retail, management experience preferred
Travel:

Training may occur at multiple locations; flexibility to travel within divisional requirements is necessary.
