Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. AND
• Experience working in a retail store preferred; OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Rings up sales at the cash register, collects monies, counts change, and prepares receipts; balances cash drawer and runs routine register print-outs.
• Prepares, processes, and maintains various sales records, tax forms, and social service vouchers; prepares routine sales reports.
• Answers store telephone courteously; assists customers with questions and directions; may schedule and record donation pickups.
• Explains store policy and responds to questions regarding pricing and purchasing of items; ensures a pleasant customer experience.
• Receives, inspects, and sorts donated items according to category and condition.
