Job description

As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure the store's appearance. Your role will involve enhancing the customer shopping experience through collaboration with the ALDI team and delivering exceptional customer service.

Position Details:

• Type: Full-Time
• Average Hours: 32-40 hours/week
• Starting Wage: $17.50/hour
• Wage Progression: Year 2 - $18.00, Year 3 - $18.50, Year 4 - $18.50, Year 5 - $19.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.)
• Process customer purchases, perform cleaning, stock shelves, and organize displays
• Provide excellent customer service and assist shoppers
• Communicate effectively with team members and management
• Provide feedback on products, inventory, and store issues
• Participate in inventory counts and monitor stock accuracy
• Follow cash handling policies to prevent losses
• Adhere to company policies, ensuring security and confidentiality
• Perform other assigned duties

Physical Demands:

• Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and place products on shelves at various heights
• Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk within the store
• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 or older
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Operate cash register accurately
• Operate equipment safely, including hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers
• Perform cleaning to company standards
• Interpret and follow company policies
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Stay organized, attentive to detail, and able to multi-task
• Meet state and local requirements for handling alcohol, if applicable

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Retail experience preferred
• Equivalent knowledge through education and experience
