Job description

As a Store Associate, you'll be responsible for merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You'll enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service.

Position Details:
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours: 32-40 hours per week
  • Starting Wage: $20.00 per hour
  • Wage Increases: Year 2 - $20.50, Year 3 - $21.00, Year 4 - $21.00, Year 5 - $22.00
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role.
  • Process customer purchases, perform cleaning duties, stock shelves, and maintain displays.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist shoppers.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Report product issues, inventory losses, scanning errors, and other concerns.
  • Participate in inventory counts and monitor stock accuracy.
  • Follow cash handling policies to minimize losses.
  • Adhere to company policies, ensuring security and confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
  • Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and place products on shelves at various heights.
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, walk, and perform related tasks.
  • Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Operate cash register efficiently and accurately.
  • Safely operate equipment such as hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers.
  • Perform cleaning to company standards.
  • Interpret and apply company policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Stay organized, detail-oriented, follow instructions, and multitask professionally.
  • Meet state and local requirements for handling and selling alcohol, if applicable.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Retail experience preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
