Job description

As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure the store looks its best. You will enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service.

Position Details:

• Type: Full-Time
• Hours: 32-40 hours per week
• Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour
• Wage Progression: Year 2 - $18.00, Year 3 - $18.50, Year 4 - $18.50, Year 5 - $19.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role.
• Process customer purchases, perform cleaning duties, stock shelves, and merchandise displays neatly.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers during their shopping experience.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with store management.
• Provide feedback to management regarding products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and other issues.
• Participate in inventory counts and monitor inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to cash handling policies to minimize losses.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, maintaining security and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Stock merchandise from receiving to shelving, lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk within the store.
• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service.
• Operate cash register efficiently and accurately.
• Safely operate equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers.
• Perform general cleaning to company standards.
• Interpret and apply company policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Stay organized, detail-oriented, follow instructions, and multitask professionally.
• Meet any legal requirements for handling and selling alcohol, if applicable.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience preferred; a combination of education and experience is acceptable.
