Job description

As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure the store looks its best. You will enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service.

Position Details:

• Type: Full-Time
• Hours: 32-40 hours per week
• Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour
• Wage Progression: Year 2 - $17.50, Year 3 - $18.00, Year 4 - $18.00, Year 5 - $19.00

Key Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.)
2. Process customer purchases and perform general cleaning duties
3. Stock shelves and merchandise displays neatly
4. Provide exceptional customer service and assist shoppers
5. Communicate effectively with team members and management
6. Provide feedback on products, inventory, and store issues
7. Participate in store inventory counts and monitor inventory accuracy
8. Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures
9. Comply with company policies, maintaining security and confidentiality
10. Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

• Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform tasks at various heights
• Sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, carry, and walk regularly
• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 or older
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Operate cash register accurately
• Safely operate equipment such as hand jacks and floor scrubbers
• Perform cleaning duties to company standards
• Interpret and apply company policies
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Work independently and in a team
• Stay organized, attentive to detail, and able to multi-task
• Meet state and local requirements for handling alcohol, if applicable

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Retail experience preferred
• Equivalent education and experience accepted
