Job summary

CVS Health in Nashville is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations, support the Pharmacy Manager, and ensure safe dispensing, patient counseling and immunization services. You will supervise the team during shifts, uphold safety protocols, and maintain compliance with state regulations.

The role emphasizes patient care, inventory management, and collaboration with the patientHCTeam to resolve issues and deliver quality healthcare services.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching and follow-up of pharmacy team members.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same.
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations and supporting Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Managing pharmacy inventory with emphasis on protecting cold chain products.
• Ensuring operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalating issues as needed.
• Maintaining scheduling and a safe, inclusive team dynamic; supporting the Pharmacy Manager with scheduling.
• Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills and pursuing ongoing trainings and CME opportunities.
• Supporting access to care and pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing where permissible.
• Complying with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies.
