Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, specific to position posted.
• Valid Rhode Island Teaching Certification as a special educator in the area of the position posted.
• Basic knowledge of IDEA and state special education regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to write effective, data-driven IEPs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Experience with a range of disabilities including learning disabilities, autism, EBD, and developmental delays is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs and goals.
• Deliver instruction in inclusive, resource, or self-contained settings with appropriate accommodations.
• Provide direct instruction in academic, functional, and behavioral skills as needed.
• Administer assessments to inform progress monitoring, IEP development, and planning.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to implement IEPs.
