Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, Arizona seeks a dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher at Adams Elementary. This full-time role offers a base salary of $55,886 per year, with benefits including health and life insurance and retirement through ASRS.

You will develop IEPs, translate district standards into meaningful lessons, and work with parents, teachers and service personnel to meet diverse student needs in a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate, appropriate for subject area.
• Course work should include Foundations of special education, behavior management techniques, assessment and evaluation methods, instructional strategies for students with disabilities and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.
• Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
• Considers individual learning needs and abilities in lesson planning and assessment.
• Develops Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students based on assessments.
• Maintains positive classroom and campus management in line with policies.
• Communicates with students and parents about progress and expectations.
• Works with parents, school personnel, and service providers to support education.
