Job summary

TeachIowa Pocahontas Area Community School District is seeking an Associate / Special Education Paraeducator in Pocahontas, Iowa. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred.
• Strong patience, empathy and interpersonal skills; ability to follow teacher/district direction and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students individually or in small groups.
• Assist with IEP implementation and behavior support; track progress data.
• Provide personal care assistance as needed (mobility, feeding, personal hygiene).
• Supervise students during non-instructional times (recess, lunch, transitions, bus).
• Assist with setting up equipment, adapting materials, and maintaining an orderly classroom.
