Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Eligible for Highly Qualified status by 48 college credits or ParaPro.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Tutor individual students and small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities.
• Monitor and assist students in drill, practice, and study activities.
• Direct students into safe learning activities and reinforce positive social behaviors.
• Assist in managing student behavior through positive strategies and techniques.
• Prepare instructional materials and learning aids for use with individuals or small groups.
• Maintain records and files, including confidential student information.
• Operate and assist students with instructional media machines and equipment.
• Administer and score tests and record results.
• Requisition and store textbooks, materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Administer routine first aid and seek help for injuries.
• Maintain an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.
