Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is seeking an Animal Care & Placement Specialist at the PAWS Kyle location. The role supports intake-to-placement workflows, caring for shelter animals and assisting visitors and adopters to find the right match.

This full-time position emphasizes teamwork with volunteers, data-informed tasks, and dependable, high-quality execution aligned with APA!'s mission to save more lives across Texas.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care and customer service preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable working with volunteers and shelter animals.

Responsibilities

• Care for cats and dogs daily, maintaining clean living spaces per shelter protocols.
• Greet adopters and match them with well-suited animals.
• Process paperwork and follow SOPs; communicate animal histories to adopters.
• Promote adoptable animals through in-person interactions, photos, or social media support.
• Collaborate with volunteers to complete daily tasks and create an inclusive environment.
