Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Full-Time Server to create joyful dining experiences for residents. You’ll assist with breakfast and lunch, greet residents, carry trays, explain menus, and respond with warmth and compassion as part of a collaborative team.

Expect a consistent schedule Monday–Friday 7:30am–2:00pm, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be 15+, speak English clearly, and be able to obtain necessary food-handling permits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Able to work Monday–Friday 7:30am–2:00pm with evenings/weekends/holidays possible.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• Must obtain food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two weeks of hire.
• State regulations may require a work permit depending on age/residence; permit must be provided at hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and provide breakfast and lunch service, taking orders and ensuring a personal, compassionate experience.
• Clear and reset tables, handle dishes, refill water, and set tables for meals.
• Vacuum, clean salad bar, and perform other cleaning tasks as needed.
• Deliver room service meals and collect trays with a positive attitude.
• Listen to resident feedback and report to a supervisor as needed.
• Assist with other tasks assigned by supervisors.

About The Role

As a Full-Time Server, you’ll do more than serve meals, you’ll create meaningful dining experiences that bring joy to residents. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll share ideas, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and contribute to a positive, caring community environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Make residents’ mornings special- Set the tone for their day by greeting them and delivering exceptional breakfast and lunch experience. You’ll carry trays, serve drinks and meals, explain the menu, take orders and anticipate residents’ needs to ensure every interaction feels personal and compassionate.
• Keep the dining room looking its best by clearing and resetting tables, carefully handling dishes, filling and refilling water carafes, and setting tables before meals.
• Help keep things clean and organized by vacuuming carpets, cleaning the salad bar, and completing other cleaning tasks as needed.
• Deliver room service meals and pick up trays with a friendly, positive attitude.
• Listen and respond kindly to resident comments or concerns and share feedback with a manager or supervisor when needed.
• Jump in and help where needed by completing support work and other tasks assigned by supervisors or managers.

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 15 years of age or older.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday 7:30am to 2:00pm with flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, guests, and employees.
• Ability to secure required food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two (2) weeks of hire.
• State regulations may require certain applicants to obtain a work permit before beginning employment. If this applies to you based on your age and state of residence, the Community Manager at the location where you are applying will provide guidance on the necessary steps. Any required work permit must be submitted to the Community at the time of hire to ensure compliance with state requirements.
