Job summary

Sunstates Security is hiring Full-Time Security Officers in Erlanger, KY. This position supports a fast-growing privately held security company known for employee development and competitive benefits.

You will monitor access, verify shipping documents, perform patrols, and maintain accurate logs while upholding Sunstates’ core values of honor, integrity, and trust. All days and shifts are available with a pay rate of $18.50/hr, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Good customer service skills and professional appearance.
• Maintain gatehouse access control and greeting in a professional manner.
• Verify shipping docs, seals, and log entries.
• Conduct GMP inspections on inbound shipments as needed.
• Maintain security records and logs.
• Perform interior and exterior patrols for security/safety.
• Identify and report incidents, hazards and other issues.
• Enforce site access policies and visitor management procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access at the gatehouse, greeting employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers.
• Verify inbound and outbound shipping documentation and logs.
• Conduct routine security patrols and inspect facilities for hazards.
• Maintain daily activity, visitor and contractor logs and reports.
• Enforce visitor management and access control policies.
• Assist dock operations by coordinating driver arrivals and appointments.
• Complete shift handoffs and equipment accountability.

Job Requirements

Requirements and Responsibilities

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent


• Must have good communication skills.


• Good customer service skills and professional appearance.


• Monitor and control access at the gatehouse, greeting employees, visitors, contractors, and commercial drivers in a professional and customer-focused manner.


• Verify inbound and outbound shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), seal inspections, trailer inspections, and electronic gate log entries.


• Conduct GMP inspections on inbound shipments and promptly report any failed inspections to management and quality assurance personnel.


• Maintain accurate security records, including daily activity reports, visitor logs, contractor logs, package logs, and pass-down reports.


• Perform scheduled interior and exterior patrols to inspect doors, stairwells, lighting, and facility grounds for security or safety concerns.


• Identify, document, and report security incidents, hazards, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, water leaks, and other issues using site reporting systems.


• Enforce site access policies and visitor management procedures, including verifying appointments, vehicle authorizations, and contractor approvals.


• Assist dock operations by coordinating driver arrivals, managing appointments, facilitating access, and supporting inbound and outbound logistics activities.


• Complete shift pass-down procedures, equipment accountability checks, key inventories, and communication of site activities to ensure smooth transition between shifts.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
