Job summary

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD is seeking a Lifeguard for the Natatorium in Pharr, TX. The role requires ensuring a safe environment for pool patrons and swimmers, reporting to the Aquatics Director, and maintaining orderly pool operations.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and Lifeguard experience is preferred. It is a full-time, on-site role with focus on safety, supervision, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED in English.
• Lifeguard experience preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Uphold and adhere to safety rules.
• Prevent accidents through enforcement of pool policies and regulations.
• Maintain discipline of swimmers with Head Lifeguard/Aquatics Director.
• Observe for accidents in water, on the deck, or near diving equipment.
• Rescue swimmers in trouble, perform first aid, and call 911 for serious cases.
• Report hazards to Head Lifeguard/Aquatics Manager.
• Maintain a professional appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness to all patrons and staff.
• Keep abreast of innovative practices and adapt to changes in techniques.
• Perform clerical and janitorial duties as assigned.
