Job summary

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD is seeking a Swim (Aquatics) Instructor to teach adults and children in a life‑threatening, high‑contact environment and develop fundamentals of competitive aquatics such as swimming, diving and water polo.

This role requires completion of American Red Cross swims training, the ability to obtain lifeguard or water safety instructor certification, and prior experience with children.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED in English.
• American Red Cross Swim training is required.
• Ability to become ARC lifeguard or water safety instructor.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lesson program within the guidelines established by PSJA.
• Develop lesson plans implementing PSJA ISD Aquatics.
• Identify pre- and post-session skill levels.
• Communicate with parents, pool patrons, and staff in a professional and courteous way.
• Select those students eligible for competitive swimming, diving, and/or water polo.
• Uphold and adhere to safety.
