Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a caring Paraprofessional for school-based support in Bellevue, WA. You will work under teachers and staff to help students succeed by supporting learning and independence in a school setting.

The role focuses on assisting with classroom activities, implementing IEP-based strategies, and promoting positive behavior. Rolling start dates and full-time M-F schedules are available, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Experience and comfort with students who may have behavioral and toileting needs.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must fulfill one of: 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level+, an associate degree or higher, or a state-approved paraeducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually or in small groups under teachers and staff.
• Assist with classroom activities, instruction, and daily routines.
• Support accommodations and strategies in IEPs.
• Help students build academic, communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Follow behavior support plans and encourage positive student engagement.
• Assist with transitions, supervision, and personal care as required.
• Communicate student progress to the supervising teacher.
• Maintain student confidentiality and a safe learning environment.
