Job summary

Canton Public Schools seeks a full-time School Nurse for Cherry Brook Primary School (PK-3). The RN will manage daily health operations, provide acute care, and collaborate with families and staff to support medical needs of young students.

The role requires CT RN licensure, CPR/First Aid, and 2–3 years of pediatric or school nursing experience. BSN preferred; salary range $60,000–$65,000; school-year calendar with potential extended year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• RN license in Connecticut.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (BLS preferred).
• 2–3 years nursing experience; pediatric, emergency, or school nursing desirable.
• Strong patient communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct Student Care: provide nursing care, triage and first aid for Pre-K to 3rd grade students.
• Medication & Health Management: safely administer medications and manage IHPs/504 plans.
• Screening & Compliance: conduct required health screenings and maintain accurate records.
• Early Childhood Expertise: address developmental needs with age-appropriate care.
• Emergency Response: lead campus medical emergency response and coordinate EMS.
• Collaboration & Communication: liaise with families, healthcare providers, and staff on health concerns.
