Job summary

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School in Coleridge, Nebraska is seeking a Custodian for a full-time, 12-month position. Starting date is immediate and the role reports to the Director of Facilities and Maintenance, Building Principals, and Superintendent.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and possess physical stamina to lift up to 55 pounds and push/pull at least 20 pounds. Non-exempt status applies, and overtime may be required to meet district events.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED is required.
Ability to perform essential job functions.
Ability to follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks.
Effective interpersonal skills required.
Ability to lift 55 pounds occasionally and push/pull 20 pounds frequently.
Must work in hot/humid and cold environments.

Responsibilities

Perform major cleaning tasks including vacuuming, wet-mopping, sweeping and trash removal.
Clean restrooms and disinfect fixtures daily.
Wash windows and sills and replace light bulbs as needed.
Set up facilities for events and move furniture (up to 55 lbs).
Report major repairs to Head Custodian and work overtime as needed.
Ensure doors and windows are locked; assist in summer cleaning and winter snow removal.
