Job summary

KIPP North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to support daily cafeteria operations at a school site in Charlotte. You will prepare and serve meals, maintain a clean and safe kitchen, and assist teammates to deliver a positive dining experience for students and staff.

The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks. Prior food service or cleaning experience is preferred, and applicants must pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or cleaning experience preferred.
• Willingness to follow recipes and safety protocols.
• Reliable transportation and ability to stand long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and service area.
• Stock serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
• Follow proper procedures for food storage, rotation, and sanitation.
• Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Assist with putting away deliveries and organizing inventory.
• Sweep, mop, and take out trash as needed.
• Follow all local, state, federal, and company health regulations.
• Step in to assist team members or cover shifts as needed.
• Submit reports and meet deadlines as assigned.
• Carry out any additional duties to support the kitchen team and school meal program.
