Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is hiring a full-time Food Service Worker at Cherokee Charter Academy in Gaffney, SC. The role prepares and serves meals in a school cafeteria, follows safety standards, and works Monday through Friday. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and an opportunity to contribute to healthy student meals.

Prior food service experience is preferred and pay is $14 per hour. The position requires reliability, ability to follow recipes and portion control, and friendly customer service

Qualifications

• Food service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and portion controls.
• Customer service oriented and able to interact with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations while following safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved recipes and production standards for quality and serving temperatures.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
