Job summary

The North Penn School District seeks a reliable Full-Time School Bus Driver to transport students on assigned routes with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities include following DOT regulations, maintaining order aboard the bus, performing inspections, and communicating with transportation staff to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs. A High School Diploma is required; PA CDL with School Bus endorsement preferred, will train the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pennsylvania CDL Driver's license preferred with School Bus and Air Brake endorsement; training available for the right candidate
• Clean driving history for minimum three years; no DUI or felony while operating a motor vehicle

Responsibilities

• Operates School Bus in compliance with all Federal and State DOT requirements
• Maintains student order and discipline in accordance with district guidelines and policies
• Performs all pre and post trip vehicle inspections as set forth in the PA Motor Vehicle Code
• Follows routes as directed by Department Router and Fleet Manager, notifies deviations or unsafe conditions
• Maintains route book in a complete and legible fashion
• Completes monthly mileage logs with accuracy
• House keeps bus clean daily; ensures mirrors are clean and adjusted
• Communicates repairs to garage staff promptly
• Attends all in-service training meetings
• Maintains professional interactions with stakeholders (students, parents, staff)
• Communicates conduct reports for student behaviors
• Assigns student seating as directed
• Documents worked time via time clock/sheets
• Submits to Drug/Alcohol testing as required by DOT
• Abides by district policies and regulations
• Additional duties as assigned
