Job summary

TM Bus Inc is seeking a dedicated school bus driver to safely operate buses on assigned routes in New York. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, pick up and drop off students on time, and maintain order and safety aboard at all times.

The role requires maintaining CDL with P and S endorsements, complying with district regulations, and coordinating with dispatch and school staff. Training and development are part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements required.
• Background checks and drug screening will be completed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes, following all traffic laws and district schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
• Pick up and drop off students at designated stops on time.
• Maintain discipline and ensure student safety and behavior standards onboard.
• Use safety equipment (mirrors, seat belts, emergency exits, wheelchair lifts if applicable).
• Follow state/district regulations for school bus operation and student transportation.
• Communicate with dispatch, school staff, and parents regarding routes, delays or incidents.
• Complete required paperwork (attendance, incident, mileage logs).
• Assist students with boarding/exiting, including those with special needs.
• Respond to emergencies calmly (medical, weather-related).
• Keep the bus clean and report maintenance needs.
