Job summary

The Goddard School of Norwood, NJ is seeking a reliable, organized, and energetic Full-Time School Assistant to support teachers, keep the classroom and common areas clean, and help ensure the school runs smoothly each day.

Responsibilities include kitchen and food preparation, general school operations, classroom support, and completing required trainings. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with immediate start.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced school environment.
• Team-oriented and dependable.
• Comfortable working around young children.
• Prior experience in a school or childcare setting preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

• Kitchen & Food Preparation: wash, prepare, and cut fresh fruit; sanitize bins; maintain kitchen cleanliness; heat and distribute lunches; complete required Food Handlers course.
• School Operations & Organization: maintain supply closet; track supplies; distribute items to teachers; keep shared spaces clean.
• Classroom Support: assist in classrooms; provide bathroom breaks; support lunch breaks; assist staff and students as needed.
• Training & Compliance: complete trainings for licensed childcare; follow health, safety, and sanitation policies.
