Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a full-time ASL Interpreter for a Thomas County School System assignment. You will facilitate real-time communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and classroom staff to ensure access to instruction and activities.

Responsibilities include interpreting in classroom and school-related settings, collaborating with teachers and special education staff, and supporting IEP implementation while maintaining FERPA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Certification or licensure as an interpreter (e.g., RID) or state credentials desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language and Deaf culture awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpreting in classroom settings and school activities.
• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa in real time.
• Support teacher communication and ensure educational access under FERPA.
