Job summary

Dahlquist Machine by Fathom seeks a detail-oriented Saw Operator to set up and run Amada and other saws, cutting raw materials to spec. You will handle incoming materials, organize stock, and log materials in the ERP system while maintaining a clean, safe shop environment.

Ideal candidates have basic knowledge of aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics, plus forklift experience and a can-do attitude in a team setting. This full-time on-site role offers steady hours in Ham Lake, MN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic knowledge of metals and plastics is preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts or similar material handling equipment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Amada saws, cold saws, bandsaws, and hot saws to cut raw materials per job requirements.
• Monitor parts for dimensional accuracy and cut quality throughout sawing.
• Perform inspections with gauges to verify material dimensions.
• Select blades, feeds, and speeds based on material type (aluminum, stainless steel, plastics).
• Receive and organize incoming materials, verify against POs, and log in ERP.
• Keep material staging area clean and organized; operate forklifts to move stock.
• Perform routine maintenance on sawing equipment and report issues.
• Maintain safety, quality records, and comply with EH&S policies.
