Summary

The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, such as cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise based on Guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
  • Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to team goals.
  • Provide excellent service throughout the store, including fitting rooms and checkout.
  • Assist Guests with fitting merchandise and processing purchases.
  • Handle exchanges and returns knowledgeably and professionally.
  • Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to meet goals.
  • Participate in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
  • Place special orders and contact other stores as needed.
  • Build and maintain good Guest relationships.
  • Develop knowledge of Buckle’s customer service standards.
  • Perform leadership actions and uphold high standards, regardless of management presence.
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities using various tools and referrals.
  • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty programs.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude to foster a positive store culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn.
  • Stay current on product range and feedback.
  • Ensure the sales floor is well-sized and displays are updated with new freight.
Operations
  • Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday days.
  • Operate cash registers, handle money, and perform bank deposits.
  • Recognize security risks and prevent thefts, following Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of POS procedures and store policies.
  • Perform merchandising tasks and keep the store organized and clean.
  • Report concerns and policy violations to management.
  • Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk/hear regularly. Capable of lifting 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities are required.

Work Environment

Primarily in a retail store with moderate noise levels.
