Summary

The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, such as cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing knowledge with Team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
  • Consistently focus on personal sales and impact Teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Provide legendary service in all store areas: Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
  • Assist Guests with fitting merchandise and checkout process.
  • Prepare merchandise for alterations and handle exchanges and returns effectively.
  • Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to meet goals.
  • Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
  • Place Special Orders or contact other stores for desired merchandise.
  • Build and maintain good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Understand Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet Guest needs.
  • Perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, regardless of managerial presence.
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities via Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommendations.
  • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to foster a positive store culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turnover.
  • Stay current on product range and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Ensure the sales floor is well-sized and freight is properly displayed.
Operations
  • Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday days as needed.
  • Operate cash registers, perform financial transactions, and balance cash drawers.
  • Recognize and prevent security risks and thefts, following Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • Handle freight, re-merchandising, displays, markdowns, and transfers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store environment.
  • Report concerns and policy violations to management promptly.
  • Understand and apply Buckle’s policies and Code of Ethics.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information

This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Benefits include insurance, savings accounts, paid time off, 401(k), employee discounts, bonuses, and more. No prior experience is required. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, and visual requirements. The work environment is a retail store with moderate noise levels.
