Your Day at Lowe's
Sales Specialists move throughout the store or garden center, answer phones, and engage with customers. Most of your time will be spent communicating with customers about project needs, answering questions, and helping them achieve their home improvement goals.

You will become a product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close sales. You may work in departments like Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Nursery, Millwork, Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by understanding needs, answering questions, and explaining product benefits.
  • Serve as a point of contact within your department for customers and vendors, managing estimates, installations, orders, and follow-ups.
  • If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with vendors, and reorder stock as needed.
  • Perform price reviews and maintain pricing documentation.
  • Support checkout and assistance requests.
  • Train and coach fellow associates on the sales floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year sales/customer-facing experience or 6 months Lowe's retail experience (or 3 years external sales/customer service or 18 months Lowe's experience if education is unmet)
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods
  • Lift at least 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with assistance
  • Obtain any required sales licenses or registrations (Lowe's will support and fund this)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience completing customer sales orders
  • Experience promoting product services like installation or financing
  • Design experience using CAD systems
  • Relevant professional certifications
  • Bilingual skills
