Your Day at Lowe's

Sales Specialists are active, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and engaging with customers. Your main focus will be communicating with customers—discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them achieve their home improvement goals.

You will become a product expert, informing customers about specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close sales. Your consulting skills help ensure customer satisfaction before they leave the store.

You may work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls, depending on needs and your skillset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service by understanding needs, answering questions, and explaining product benefits.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors, providing project estimates, scheduling installations, processing orders, and following up.
  • If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with vendors, and support sales efforts.
  • Perform price reviews and maintain pricing accuracy.
  • Support checkout functions and assist customers as needed.
  • Train and coach fellow associates on the sales floor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of customer-facing sales experience or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience, or 3 years external sales experience if education is unmet.
  • Experience in sales or customer service with measurable goals.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Obtain necessary sales licensure if required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience completing customer sales orders.
  • Experience promoting product services like installation or delivery.
  • Design experience with CAD systems.
  • Professional certifications related to the department.
  • Bilingual skills.

Lowe's encourages bilingual, military, and veteran talent to apply to support community growth.

Travel and Working Conditions

Occasional travel may be required for meetings or training. Work environments vary, including indoor and outdoor conditions, with exposure to weather and noise. Follow safety guidelines for lifting and equipment use.
