Your Day at Lowe's

Sales Specialists are active, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and talking to customers. You'll spend most of your time communicating with customers—discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them with their home improvement goals.

You will become the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close sales. Your consulting helps ensure customer needs are met before they leave the store.

You will work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls, depending on hiring needs and your skillset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by understanding customer needs and communicating product benefits.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors, providing project estimates, scheduling, processing orders, and ensuring project completion.
  • If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels, work with vendors, and support sales.
  • Perform price reviews and maintain pricing documentation.
  • Support checkout functions and assist customers as needed.
  • Train and coach associates on the sales floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months Lowe’s retail experience, or 3 years external sales/customer service experience if education is unmet.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with assistance.
  • Obtain sales-related licensure if required by law (Lowe's will support and fund this).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience completing customer sales orders.
  • Experience promoting product services such as installation, delivery, financing, or extended protection plans.
  • Design experience using CAD systems.
  • Professional certifications related to the department.
  • Bilingual skills.

Lowe's encourages bilingual, military, and veteran talent to apply. We support community growth and teamwork.

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally need to visit other stores for meetings or training.

Working Conditions

Conditions vary by location; may include outdoor weather exposure, noise, and physical lifting up to 75 pounds with team lifts and proper equipment.
