Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Associate Lead is primarily responsible for supporting management in the overall operations of the store to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. Performs various sales and register transactions.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Promotes customer service by ensuring associates greet and assist customers; responds to inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
  2. Performs operational activities including cash handling, reporting, price changes, merchandise handling, and opening/closing duties; reviews and submits payroll documentation accurately.
  3. Monitors sales activities and productivity; provides feedback, motivation, and training to associates to achieve goals.
  4. Maintains awareness of customers to enhance service levels and security; stays current on operational policies regarding payments, exchanges, and security.
  5. Stays informed about current sales and promotions; displays merchandise accordingly.
  6. Supports inventory and supplies management per company policy.
  7. Supervises sales associates involved in sales, inventory receipt, cash reconciliation, and customer services; prepares weekly schedules for proper floor coverage.
  8. Models sales techniques, shares product knowledge, and assists customers in merchandise selection based on their needs.
  9. Builds customer loyalty through clienteling and wardrobe styling.
  10. Maintains standards in merchandise handling, presentation, loss prevention, and other duties as directed.
  11. Participates in visual directives, including store set-ups and merchandise replenishment.
  12. Ensures excellent customer service by overseeing associate greeting and assistance; responds professionally to inquiries and complaints.
  13. Assists in developing store associates through KPI analysis, coaching, and providing feedback for performance appraisals.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned, noting that duties may vary across different brands.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Preferred: Minimum 2 years retail or sales management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the district.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of store operations and administrative tasks.
  • Physical ability to stand, maneuver, operate registers, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform related tasks.
  • Regular attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays are essential.
