Job summary

The Village of Ackley is seeking a caring LPN or RN to join our award-winning team. You will work in a supportive environment with high expectations, where your voice is heard and residents come first.

Responsibilities include assessing residents, administering medications, coordinating admissions, supervising CNAs, and communicating with physicians and the Director of Nursing. We offer continuing education opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a state board-approved nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as an LPN or RN in Iowa.
  • Current CPR certification or willing to obtain.
  • This is an hourly position; weekend/holiday work is required.
  • Exceptional attendance.

  • Complete resident assessments and supervise LPN in data gathering.
  • Maintain awareness of residents’ condition under their care.
  • Administer medications and treatments; take responsibility for resident care.
  • Consult with the Director of Nursing on care and workload.
  • Coordinate planning of resident admissions with family involvement.
  • Provide emotional and physical comfort and safety to residents.

What you’ll do as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Effectively communicates resident needs with physicians and immediate supervisor
  • Completes resident assessments as required; supervises LPN in data gathering of information
  • Maintains awareness of the condition of all residents under their care
  • Accurately administers all medications, treatments, and physician orders; taking ultimate responsibility for resident care
  • Confers with the Director of Nursing on an ongoing basis with special problems of care, resident transfers, management of workload, etc.
  • Coordinates preparation and planning of resident admission; giving proper recognition to the real and potential contribution of family and others in planning nursing care
  • Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents, and emotional support to families
  • Supervises, assists, consults with and teaches certified nursing assistants
What you’ll need as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Graduate of a state board-approved school
  • Currently licensed in Iowa
  • Current in CPR certification or willing to achieve it
  • This is an hourly position, which means you must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays as required/needed
  • Exceptional attendance
