Job summary
Goodwill of Central Iowa is seeking a Full-Time Retail Store E-Commerce Associate (Ankeny North) to support online auction listings and store operations. The role involves photographing donations, writing descriptions, and coaching retail staff in line with Goodwill’s values of love, kindness, and respect.
The starting wage is $16–$19 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour on Saturdays and Sundays. A monthly bonus is eligible based on store performance, plus annual merit increases based on
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; willingness to complete background checks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to coach and support store employees.
- Basic math and strong organizational abilities; capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and photograph donated goods for online E‑Commerce auctions.
- Coordinate with store teams on items trending for auction to drive sales.
- Inventory, tag, and document donated goods for transfer between locations.
- Provide customer service and assist with donations as needed.
- Support e-commerce operations and training of retail staff.

- Full-Time (38-40 hours/week)
- No retail holiday season! Shifts are scheduled Monday - Saturday: 8 am - 10 pmand Sunday :11 am - 6 pm
- Starting wage of$16-$19/hour dependent upon relevant years of experience.
- An additional $1.00/hour on Saturday and Sunday shifts worked!
- Monthly Retail Associate Bonus eligibilitybased on store production and revenue goals being met!

- Excellent communication skills for daily employee coaching and collaboration interactions

- Effective technology skills -Microsoft Office and online auction experience is a plus
What you will do:
- Sort and accurately identify donated goods that would be valuable selections for online E-Commerce auctions.
- Effectively communicate to store teams on items that are trending with online customers to drive sales.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on teams within our values of love, kindness, and respect.
- Accurately inventory, tag, and record donated goods for secure transfer between locations.
- Photograph items for online E-Commerce auctions using best practices.
- Prepare accurate written descriptions of saleable items to list across online platforms.
- Achieve production goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Report, track, and communicate E-Commerce production and KPI metrics between E-Commerce and Retail departments.
- Greet, assist, and engage with customers to provide excellent customer service in a helpful and courteous manner.
- Safely operate a dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and possibly riding or walk behind forklift.
- Assist with accepting donations and retail store production as needed using GCI’s donated goods retail processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team effectively and flexibly.
- Knowledge of antiques, collectibles, and jewelry preferred.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
- High school diploma or its equivalent or currently attending high school or GED classes. A minimum of four (4) years of any combination of military service, high school or related full-time paid employment. A minimum of twelve (12) months of related full-time paid employment.
- Access to reliable transportation for regular participation in work
- Ability to occasionally carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds
- Ability to consistently carry, lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, repetitively lift, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time.
- Ability to tolerate variations in work environment temperature
- Must have visual acuity to identify and determine quality of selected donations.

- Retail Shift Leader- Assist with directing, coordinating, & monitoring retail store operations and supportemployee training.
- Engagement Coordinator- Assist with new employee onboarding, training, and coaching to successfully integrate employees into GCI's work culture, environment, and processes.
- E-Commerce Coordinator- Identifies and processes trending/valuable donations to be sold on E-Commerce platforms & coaches in-store team members to do the same.
- Assistant Store Manager- Manages day-to-day retail operations and assists with training, coaching, and performance management of store teams to achieve goals.
- Store Manager-In-Training- Assists with directing store operations to train, lead, and manage store team members and learn how to achieve key performance metrics and manage revenue targets.
- Store Manager- Directs store operations to lead, train, and develop employees, champion service excellence, and achieve key performance indicators and revenue targets in support of funding GCI’s mission.
- District Manager- Oversees multi-unit store operations management by leading teams to drive operational and service excellence, overall financial performance, loss control activities, customer service, inventory control, and quality standards within their assigned stores.
