Description

• Exhibits a high level of competency and professionalism in providing personalized quality Cardiopulmonary services with a high regard for safety.
• Displays sound judgment in patient assessment and treatment decision making and communicates effectively concerning patient care with other team members and seeks opportunities to improve patient care.
• Prioritizes assignments well and completes all procedures with personalized quality and takes the initiative to complete any other needed duties including departmental housekeeping and clerical duties in the areas of cardiopulmonary and safety and security.
• Completes all mandatory inservices and competency testing on a timely basis and takes the initiative to stay current in cardiopulmonary knowledge through attending department meetings, audio-conferences, inservices and reading the appropriate professional periodicals.
• Completes accurate and legible patient therapy charting, department billing, logs and reports and other clerical paperwork duties. Reads all posted memos and delivered e-mails from the manager in a timely manner to ensure up to date knowledge of current policies and procedures.
• Assures patient care equipment is in safe working order, properly disinfected, as well as departmental and patient areas are clean and orderly. Infection Control and other departmental and hospital policies and procedures are closely followed.
• Arrives at work on time, has good work attendance and is flexible with the work schedule helping to fill in shifts and partial shifts as needed.
• Educates patients clearly about cardiopulmonary care and also educates other team members as needed while exhibiting a high level of knowledge and professionalism. Is considered a good cardiopulmonary resource.

Troubleshoots and takes steps to correct clinical problems; refers unusual circumstances to supervision. Educates patients in the area of Cardiopulmonary Health. Completes departmental business and housekeeping tasks. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. Identifies health and safety concerns and unsafe work practices within the workplace. Is involved in developing safe work practices and is held accountable for the day to day efforts of ensuring a safe workplace by following safe work practices.
