Job summary

Sobieski Custom Homes is seeking a full-time Sheet Metal Mechanic in Newark, DE. The role involves fabrication, assembly, and installation of residential sheet metal systems and HVAC ductwork for custom homes, with blueprints interpretation and coordination with trades.

Typical hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with overtime during peak periods. Qualifications include 5+ years HVAC or sheet metal experience; Journeyman license preferred; strong tool use and blueprint reading skills; background check

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED minimum.
• Graduation from vocational school and/or apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ residential and/or commercial HVAC or Sheet Metal experience.
• Journeyman License highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC duct systems and sheet metal installation technique.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen with a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, assembly, and installation of residential sheet metal systems and HVAC ductwork.
• Read and interpret blueprints and residential HVAC layouts.
• Coordinate with supervisors, installers, and other trades to ensure safety and project accuracy.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety during installation.
