Job summary

Abhealthnetwork in Scranton, PA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a residential facility. You will perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, following infection-control and safety procedures while respecting residents' privacy and dignity.

You will work independently and as part of a team to maintain a sanitary, safe, and welcoming living environment, including laundry duties and stocking supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, residential, healthcare, or facility-cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning, sanitation, and infection-control practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect resident bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, kitchens, dining areas, lounges, offices, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors, furniture, fixtures, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste according to facility procedures.
• Change bed linens and make beds as assigned.
• Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry when required.
• Restock paper products, soap, cleaning supplies, and other housekeeping materials.
• Follow infection-control and sanitation procedures to help prevent the spread of illness.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to manufacturer and facility instructions.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unsanitary conditions to a supervisor.
• Respect residents' privacy, personal belongings, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Complete assigned cleaning schedules and document completed duties when required.
• Follow OSHA, health and safety, and facility-specific policies and procedures.
• Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
