This position includes participation, involvement, and engagement with community groups, partnerships, organizations, boards, and committees. Primary responsibilities include:
Our team is comprised of a staff of thirty-four, which includes seven other professional librarians.
We pay competitively; offer IMRF pension, 4 weeks of paid vacation, 120 hours of sick leave annually, 15 paid holidays, and health insurance.

Qualifications include a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited university and experience in a public library setting, including program planning and providing patron-focused information services or equivalent. Preference to applicants fluent in more than one language.
The Full-Time Reference Librarian will work 40 hours a week. This position is based at our Delmar Avenue location, but also may have regular hours at our Johnson Road location. Starting salary: $45,000.00.
