Job summary

Premier Rehab & Healthcare at Burlington is hiring a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Burlington, Vermont. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents improve mobility, strength, and independence, delivering patient-centered care.

The role requires PTA licensure in Vermont, a graduate of an accredited PTA program, and strong communication skills. Prior SNF or long-term care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid Vermont PTA license.
• Must be in good standing with applicable licensing/regulatory agencies.
• Previous SNF or long-term care experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and rehab interventions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises to improve strength, balance, mobility, and independence.
• Assist with transfers, gait training, and mobility activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and document patient responses and communicate progress to the PT.
• Document progress related to mobility, strength, and motor function.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and independence.
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and the care team.
