Job summary

Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Putnam County, NY is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a full‑time, on‑site role with excellent benefits. The PTA will assist in planning and conducting therapy programs, perform treatments, and document progress under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited PTA program, NY license in good standing, and the ability to work well under pressure with a compassionate approach to residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Licensed in NY State as a PTA in good standing.
• Prior skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and harmoniously with all staff.
• Excellent communication with residents, families and staff.
• Covid-19 vaccination encouraged but not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct physical therapy programs under supervision.
• Assist in planning, organizing, developing and implementing Physical Therapy services.
• Perform treatment programs for assigned residents.
• Chart notes and document resident progress.
• Coordinate with rehab team to integrate physical therapy with other activities.
