Detailed Responsibilities:

• Perform professional grooming services, including bathing, shampooing, conditioning, brushing, and thoroughly drying pets.

• Skillfully execute grooming procedures such as trimming, clipping, styling, and shaving pet hair according to established breed standards or specific client requests.

• Effectively demat and detangle pet fur while ensuring comfort and minimizing stress.

• Provide routine hygiene services such as nail trimming, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, and external anal gland expression.

• Carefully monitor pets for signs of potential health concerns, including skin irritations, infections, parasites, or dental issues, and clearly communicate these observations to pet owners, suggesting veterinary attention if necessary.

• Consistently maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards of grooming workspaces, tools, and equipment to provide a safe and welcoming environment.

• Offer personalized, friendly advice to pet owners on grooming routines and recommend appropriate grooming products based on each pet's needs and the owner's preferences.

• Efficiently manage grooming schedules and communicate effectively with clients about appointments and grooming expectations.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Proven experience as a professional pet groomer, with a portfolio or examples of past grooming work preferred.

• Certification through the National Dog Groomer Association of America (NDGAA) or equivalent professional training is highly beneficial.

• Extensive knowledge of various grooming techniques and breed-specific grooming standards.

• Solid understanding of animal behavior and the ability to handle pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments gently and compassionately.

• Strong communication and excellent customer service skills to build positive relationships with clients.

• Physical ability and stamina to comfortably lift, carry, and handle pets and grooming equipment, and the capability to stand for extended periods during grooming sessions.

• Commitment to treating all animals with kindness, patience, and empathy.
