Job summary

IKS Health is seeking a Profee Cardiology medical coder to provide coding and abstraction for outpatient, physician, and ER records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and CPS systems. You will lead coding for Clinic E&M and CPTs, mentor others, and stay current with official guidelines.

Remote monitoring and echocardiograms knowledge is required. You will review records, abstract required data, and clarify documentation with physicians.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles.
• Ability to code EKGs and other clinic accounts.
• Must pass a coding proficiency test.
• Credentialed specialists preferred (CPC/COC/CIC/CCA/CCS/CCS-P/RHIT or RHIA).
• Experience with Epic/3M 360 is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Profee Cardiology Medical CoderIKS Health company is seeking to hire a Profee Cardiology medical coder. As an experienced coder, you will be responsible for providing coding and abstracting services for clients on outpatient, physician, or emergency room medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems. You will use established coding principles, software, and your knowledge and experience to assign diagnostic and procedural codes after a thorough review of the medical record. As a coding leader, you will participate in industry forums as well as support coding education within the team. Coder will be coding Clinic E&M and CPTs for these accounts. Must also know how to code Echocardiograms, Remote Monitoring, and EKGs. Will also help with Claim Edits for this specialty.

Essential Functions:

• Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures relative to the patient's healthcare encounter.
• Abstracts appropriate information from the medical record based on the guidelines provided by the client and after a thorough review of the medical record.
• Solicits clarification from the physician regarding ambiguous or conflicting documentation in the medical record using guidelines provided by the client.
• May act as a mentor to training coders and/or new hires by providing education and training.
• Maintains current knowledge of the information contained in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
• Maintains effective and professional communication skills.
• Contributes to a positive company image by exhibiting professionalism, adaptability, and mutual respect.

Requirements:

• CPC,COC,CIC,CCA,CCS,CCS-P,RHIT or RHIAEpic/3M 360 experience a plus!
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience.
• Must be able to code EKGs and other clinic accounts
• Understands medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines, reimbursement systems, and federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding, and billing.
• Must pass a coding proficiency test.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $26hr-$28hr. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to current market conditions, location, education, work experience, certifications, etc. IKS Health offers a competitive benefits package including healthcare, 401 (k), and paid time off (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements for full-time employees).
