Position: Private Chef

Location: Washington DC area

Guests: 2 adults & 4 children, plus a daily staff meals

Salary: $180,000 to $220,000+ per year, depending on experience

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday.

Vacations: 20 paid vacation days per year.

Diet and restriction: Some allergies, to be discussed in detail during interviews.

Accommodation: Live-out. Relocation support available, temporary housing or moving stipend for the right chef.

The role

A family in the Washington DC area is looking for a full-time, live-out Private Chef to join their fully staffed residence. The schedule is Monday to Friday. The chef will work from a dedicated chef's kitchen and collaborate closely with the existing household team. The family is down to earth and enjoys a relaxed home environment built around respect, discretion and teamwork. They value longevity and are looking for a chef who can not only cook to a high standard, but also integrate naturally with the existing team and support the family's daily needs. Their current chef is moving back abroad, so they are now looking for a new Private Chef to cook for them and their 4 children. The family does not entertain often and, despite having a fully staffed residence, they enjoy a simple and relatively normal family lifestyle.

Food and cuisine preferences

The household prefers a wide variety of cuisine, from traditional American and American-style Italian cooking as well as healthy modern, vegetable-forward California and Mediterranean cuisine.

Contract and package

This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday. Employment structure is under W2. Salary is $180,000 to $220,000+ per year depending on experience, with healthcare and a 401(k). Relocation support is available. A driving license is required.

Additional information

The household values equal and respectful treatment of principals and staff, and is looking for a genuine team player who cooks to a high standard, communicates well and is comfortable following established household routines. A strong restaurant AND private household background is required. Michelin training is not required. A portfolio with photographs of the chef's food is required with every application.
