Qualifications

  • 12 units of ECE/CD including core courses in child development.

  • AA or higher degree in ECE/CD or related field with supervised field experience.

Job description

Join to apply for the Full Time Preschool Teacher - Floater role at Jewish Silicon Valley.

Support classrooms with children aged 3-5 at the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center Preschool, part of Jewish Silicon Valley.

Hours: 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise children and ensure their safety at all times.
  • Attend to the individual and group needs of children.
  • Coordinate daily with the director regarding tasks before or after breaks.
  • Follow the scheduled break times closely.
  • Assist with activities such as preparing snacks, toileting, supervising art projects, engaging in routine activities, and playground supervision.
  • Follow all preschool and APJCC policies outlined in the Employee, Staff, and Parent Handbooks.
  • Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Report any special needs or concerns about children to the preschool administration.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and setup/cleanup days.
  • Complete all required paperwork promptly, including accident and incident reports.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and administration.
  • Ensure developmentally appropriate practices when communicating with children and families.
  • Represent the preschool and APJCC positively on and off campus.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • 12 units of ECE/CD, including core courses in child development, family/community relations, or curriculum.
  • 175 days of 3-hour daily experience in an ECE/CD setting within the past 4 years.
Or
  • AA or higher degree in ECE/CD or related field.
  • 3 units of supervised field experience in an ECE/CD setting.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs, sit on the floor or low chair, squat to eye level with children, and stand/walk for up to an hour. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities. The position requires passing a background check, including fingerprinting and a life scan.
