Job summary

Grace Harbor Church & School is seeking a caring Preschool Breaker/Floater to support our preschool team. The role provides classroom coverage during breaks and supports a safe, nurturing environment for children.

Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting teachers with daily activities, and helping with transitions, meals, diapering, and other needs. A team-focused approach and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• Must be dependable, flexible, patient, and nurturing.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must meet California preschool employment and licensing requirements.
• Infant units preferred, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage during teacher breaks, lunches, and as needed.
• Supervise children and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Help with transitions, meals, diapering/toileting, and other classroom needs.
• Support multiple classrooms and age groups as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Follow all preschool policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Work cooperatively with teachers, staff, and the Preschool Director.
