Job summary

BMH Learning Center in Beaufort, SC is hiring a Pre-K Assistant Teacher (Full-Time) to support lead teachers in delivering a nurturing, play-based early education program. You will help manage daily routines, assist with activities, and promote children's social, emotional, and cognitive development while maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment for preschoolers.

Prior experience in childcare is preferred; training on licensing requirements and safety guidelines will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in childcare or early education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote overall child development.
• Support classroom management and maintain a structured, engaging learning environment.
• Help prepare children for kindergarten by introducing early educational concepts through play-based learning.
• Assist with daily routines, including meals, rest time, and classroom transitions.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Maintain open communication with parents using the classroom management system.
• Follow all center policies, safety guidelines, and licensing requirements.
