Job summary

Southside Early Childhood Center in Jefferson location is seeking an Assistant Pre-K Teacher to support the Lead Teacher, providing a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool children.

You will help with daily routines, implement engaging activities, communicate with families, and ensure licensing and safety guidelines are followed. CDA or associate's degree in early childhood is required, with Monday–Friday hours 9:00–5:30.

Qualifications

• Experience with preschool-age children.
• CDA or associate's degree in early childhood required.
• Ability to meet background check and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as meals, toileting, rest time, transitions, and play.
• Assist with engaging, hands-on activities to promote language, motor skills, and social-emotional development.
• Use Conscious Discipline to respond to children's needs and navigate big emotions.
• Encourage independence through guided self-help opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom that meets licensing standards.
• Build warm relationships with children and families, including home visits.
• Communicate regularly with families about routines and progress.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines.
