Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a physician to deliver comprehensive medical care at the Harrisonburg VA Clinic. The role includes evaluating patients, ordering tests, and coordinating care within VA guidelines.

Applicants must hold an MD or DO with unrestricted license in the United States, have completed an accredited residency, and be prepared to work Monday through Friday in a VA setting. EDRP eligibility is available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school.
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
• Residency completed in an ACGME/AOA-accredited program or equivalent.
• Board certification is preferred for faculty status and eligibility.
• English proficiency in spoken and written form is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across multiple body systems in primary care settings.
• Document medical history, physical exams, and orders in the EHR (CPRS).
• Provide clinical care within VA guidelines and coordinate with specialty clinics.
• Participate in departmental and community meetings and continuing education.
